Creating Community

The Gathering Place is a community hub located at the ground floor of The Almere, Milton Keynes. The space evolved throughout the planning and construction process with a series of stakeholder workshops held to understand the requirements of the local community.

The space has been designed with flexibility in mind to ensure it can facilitate a wide range of events from screening of key sporting events, digital art exhibitions and craft workshops. The space can be reconfigured to suit different uses which is key is ensuring its adaptability and ensuring it meets future needs. We also encourage resident feedback and input so that the buildings can adapt and reflect how residents want to live.

The series of events are agreed and run by a Curation committee, chaired by the building General Manager which has voting members from residents, local parish councillors and the general public.
